On the day appointments
To request a same day appointment you must contact the practice for assessment so that we can review the best clinician to offer you care.
- Our phone lines are available Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm. Please call 01392 201 790.
- You can also visit the surgery, but please note you may be asked to return at a later appointment time. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm.
When you get in touch, our reception team will ask you what you need help with. If you are unable to provide this information you may only be offered a routine appointment.
Our reception team are trained by our clinicians and will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable health professional to help you. This could be a GP, Advanced Clinical Practitioner such as a nurse or physiotherapist.
Routine appointments
To request a routine appointment:
- We would encourage you to contact the practice via our online form or by telephone.
We will respond within 2 working days when we are open. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm.
We would always recommend that you see your own GP to support continuity of care. Where your GP is not available or you require care from another professional such as specialist nurse, our team will aim to book you in the soonest available appointment.
Seeing your own GP usually allows better care of ongoing and multiple conditions, enabling your GP to get to know your preferences and the best way to support you.
Please understand that there is often a wait for routine appointments as we prioritise patients who are more unwell and may require an immediate response.
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email.
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
- Use your NHS account (on the NHS website or in the NHS app).
- Phone us on 01392 201 790 Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm.
- Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm.
Extended access services
The practice provides enhanced access telephone and face-to-face appointments; week day evenings and alternate Saturdays. Please speak to our reception team regarding availability.
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111. NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond.
- If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email.
- If you need an interpreter.
- If you have any other access or communication needs.
- If you would like a chaperone.
Home visits
If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need. To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice before 10am on 01392 201 790.
